Fees & Enrolment Info

Fees

2 year olds: $328 per week

3 - 4 year olds: $240 per week (incorporates 20 hours government subsidy)

Fees are paid in two weeks in advance from the child’s starting date. To secure a space, a one-week fee is required. This fee is to be used when your child starts.  If this fee is not paid, the space may be offered to another child on our waiting list.

Upon enrolling your child and confirming their space, please note that a six-week notice period is required for any cancellations. If this notice is not provided, a penalty equivalent to a one week’s fee will be applied.

Fees include all meals, which consist of a cooked lunch every day as well as morning and afternoon tea. Tumbling Tots is included for one term. We are part of the Ministry of Education 20 hours ECE Scheme. We are not licenced to provide part time or casual hours.

Whānau involvement in Karori Kids

Karori Kids has a long tradition of being a family-led, community centre. This means you can become actively involved in the direction of the centre, and fees are reinvested into the centre.

There are several opportunities for getting involved:

Membership: Karori Kids is an incorporated society (a not-for-profit legal entity made up of members). It is reliant on having enough members to function legally. As such, parents/caregivers  are expected to become members of the society when their child starts at the centre.

Working bees: Two working bees are held each year. They allow us to give the centre a spring clean, and to attend to maintenance jobs that are difficult to achieve otherwise. Our families are encouraged to attend, including children!

The Committee: A committee of caregivers and teachers govern the centre, making key decisions to help it operate effectively. The Committee meets monthly, and parents/caregivers are encouraged to put their names forward and get involved. It’s a great way to understand the centre, and help make it the best it can be.

Annual General Meetings: The AGM is usually held in March, and families are expected to attend. It’s an opportunity to learn what’s happened in the last year, and to vote on important decisions, like appointing the committee

Social events: Karori Kids is well-known for its social events, including a Matariki celebration, and Halloween and Christmas parties. These are great opportunities to come together, share kai, and celebrate.
